It was love at first sight for Ciara McCarthy and Aaron O Driscoll when meeting at a Kanye West concert when they were just teenagers. “We have been together for 11 years now and have never looked back” shared Ciara.

Aaron planned a fabulous proposal for his soon to be wife.  “We had been together for nine years when we decided to take a trip to Iceland, it was always on our bucket list. We went there in November of 2016. On our first evening there, we had a walk around the Reykjavik and stopped at Hallgrímskirkja, which is a beautiful church at the top of the hill overlooking the city. Aaron asked somebody to take a picture of the two of us and dropped on one knee and asked the question. It was a complete shock. We then went on a boat tour to see the Northern Lights, luckily they appeared!”, Ciara shared.

After enjoying a romantic break away, plans were put in place for their wedding day and The Oriel House Hotel was chosen a their dream venue.

Memorable moments

Everyone was having a blast at Ciara and Aaron’s wedding, so much so that they found it difficult to pick just one memorable moment. “We had the absolute best day of our lives and it’s hard to pick just one moment, but something that stands out was at the end of the night when the DJ played take that “Never Forget” and we were on stage dancing with all our guests around us” mentions Ciara.

How was your experience with the Oriel House Hotel?

“The staff at The Oriel went above and beyond with everything. Elaine and the team planned our wedding to perfection and ensured that we had the best day which was enjoyed by all our guests. They are a credit to themselves and really know how to do weddings.  They went above and beyond with everything but the flower wall behind our cake made for wonderful pictures. We also had a Gin reception and used props and signs to decorate it. This was loved by our guests.”
