It wasn’t long before Kate Lawlor and Daniel Lyne hit off after they first met. “We first met in December 2014, in The Castle Inn and a year later Daniel and his friends came in for dinner to Fenn’s Quay and asked me to join them for a drink in the Castle and as I was about to leave Daniel asked me to dinner in Elbow Lane and the rest is history” shared Kate.
Making the decision to get married was a mutual agreement for Kate and Daniel. “While on holiday in Majorca we decided we’d like to get married. My parents over lapped one day of our holidays and this was when Daniel asked for my hand in marriage; it was a resounding yes! We flew back to Cork and left our luggage at Daniel’s mother’s and headed to town purchase a ring, he then proposed with the ring on Corn Market Street where we shared our first kiss” Kate said.
“Two moments that stood out were when my mother placed the veil on my head on and when the priest announced us man and wife and everybody clapped”, the bride said.
Daniel’s most memorable moment is very romantic, as he says it is “When we walked into the Celtic Ross Hotel as man and wife with all our guests clapping smiling and cheering”, the groom shared.
How was your experience with the Celtic Ross Hotel?
“A hotel that goes above and beyond to make your day special from the welcoming staff to the little touches that mean so much it truly is a hotel with a fiver star heart. The food, the chefs, the service the people. We did not have to think for the weekend, it was already done. They gently guided us through the day making sure we had time for ourselves. We ate, we were hydrated Neil Grant and his team are all so professional in what they do and Marie Dooley, the hotels Wedding Coordinator is truly a gem and made our day what it was, from her recommendations to the beautiful room. We cannot thank them enough and can’t wait to go back and stay.”
